As the academic year is drawing to a close, I would like to thank you for the co-operation and support that you had extended to me and to my staff of the school. With God's blessings and your encouragement, we were able to complete the programmes that we had planned at the beginning of the year. The guidance of the Don Bosco Community and the Managing committee members was a great help.
I am happy to inform you that on Nov.1st we began the construction of the Silver Jubilee Annexe in order to house, initially, classes Nursery to KG.2 and later, all the students of the Foundational stage (as per NEP). The Salesian Province of Shillong is supervising the construction for which we were given loans by our banks. It is to be completed within 20 months.
We concluded early the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the establishment of the school and took advantage of the pleasant climate of December. Thank you for your presence on the 19th of December to witness the programme presented by your children. The presence of the previous Principals, Vice Principals, Rectors, and other guests, made the evening a beautiful one.
This year,we have 155 students appearing for AISSE examinations and 184 students of Humanities, Science and Commerce streams appearing for their AISSCE examinations. We offer them our blessings and prayers. I am to inform you that CBSE has selected our school as the examination centre for both AISSE and AISSCE examinations. A total of 750 students from various schools will appear for the examinations at this centre, which would conclude on 5th April 2023. Due to this,we had to reschedule our final examinations.
For the new academic session, we intend to make our staff aware of their role in implementing the NEP. Initially, we hope to introduce the students to a few new subjects such as AI, Robotics, Abacus, Vedic Maths etc. in view of NEP.
The Annual results will be given on the 1st April and books will be available only on 4th April. The school office will be closed from the 5th April, after the final paper of the Board examinations. The teachers will have a 2-day refresher coursebefore we commence academic session 2023-24 on 17th April 2023. However, the Nursery classes will join the school only on 24th April 2023.For a number of years, traffic congestion from GB to Auxlium point has been causing serious inconvenience to the school. We have been consulting with Auxlium authority for a slight change of timing to avoid the traffic woes. From Next academic year, we will shorten the school timing. School Assembly will be at 8 am instead of 7.45 am. The school will get over at 1.40 pm instead of 1.35 pm.
We are happy that many parents appreciated the Parents-Teachers Meet during the current academic session. We will continue to havethis interaction every 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. Kindly go through the schedule given in the school diary.
We look forward to welcoming all for the new academic session 2023-24.
