On a Journey...

Dear students, I am happy to welcome and offer our congratulations on behalf of the school to our new provincial of Shillong Province, Rev. Fr. John Zosiama Sdb. We would like to thank Rev. Fr. Paul Olphindro Lyngkot who had been the leader of the province for the past 6 years. He was ably assisted by Rev. Fr. James Thyrniang Sdb, the Financial Administrator of the province, who supervised the New building of our school. May God bless them for their care and concern for Don Bosco School Agartala.

Dear students, we have commenced our academic session 2024-25 on the 16th of April 2024. You are invited to walk on a journey for a year - it is an academic journey. Interestingly as we began this journey, there were unplanned speed breakers in the form ofsuspension of classes due to the extreme weather conditions. As always, your teachers helped you to cover this patch of journey through online classes and home assignments. On May 2nd, remembering the school Foundation Day, we began classes in the school itself. I am sure with God's blessings and with Don Bosco's intercession, we will have a year of learning and a time to grow in wisdom and responsibility.

The School diary and the calendar, which you received in time, shall guide you on your journey. After a sufficient number of classes, PT 1 will be conducted in order to assess your journey, before we break for the summer vacation. After the summer break, your journey will be interspaced with various competitions and activities, apart from your academic growth. We hope that Class Nursery to Class Two will enter their new place of learning - The Silver Jubilee Annexe. There, they will have more space, more teachers, and fewer students in each section. Classes 3 to 5, having additional sections, will have more space in the Little Stars block. Both these buildings will be connected with a corridor and a Lift.

This segment of the journey will end with the Half Yearly Assessment and a few days of well- deserved Puja holidays. The year of 2024 will end with Christmas vacation. This patch of the journey will have more academic and co-curricular activities, the Annual day, the third Assessment, and the Pre-Board Examinations. In the final segment of the journey,you will have the Board Examinations and your Final examinations.

We are in the 200 th year of the dream that Johny Bosco (later Don Bosco) had, in which fierce wolves were changed into gentle lambs through the educational system of Don Bosco. Reason, Religious values, and loving-kindness can transform young lives into responsible and mature future citizensof our nation. Let me encourage all our staff and teaching fraternity of the school to guide our students effectively during this year of journey. Let me wish you all a safe journey, growing in wisdom, knowledge, and responsibility.
